Fluoride Varnish

Why do your teeth feel gunky??  We have replaced our tray delivery method for Fluoride!  You may have noticed that you no longer have to sit for minutes on end, drooling with a bulky tray in your mouth.  Following your hygiene visit, we are now brushing a thin layer of clear Fluoride varnish on your teeth.  It may feel a little funny until you brush it off, but it is the extended contact and high concentration of Fluoride that is so efficacious.  It is easier to apply, is twice as strong as the tray method, less is ingested, and…you can eat and drink right away!   The Fluoride is incorprated into your tooth structure, making it more resistant to cavities.  It can also help with sensitivity issues.  So don’t worry…the “gunk” is not permanent and only you will notice it.   Have a happy and safe holiday season.
